Jesse and Taylor, thank you very much for the iPhone App! Although my wife has just started using it, I already see it helping greatly.
I am the budgeter and do a pretty good job of keeping my receipts, etc. However, for years, she has had a terrible time keeping her receipts so every month, I end up finding a couple hundred dollars worth of expenses that she didn't have receipts for, sometimes not even having a clue what it was for (atm transactions, for instance). I ended up putting an envelope in her purse labeled 'Receipts' for her to put everything in one place. That made some improvements but then she would lose her envelope (sigh...).
She doesn't have an iPhone but she does have an iPod Touch that she ALWAYS carries with her for games, etc. Enter YNAB for iPhone She can now be at the grocery store and check the budget because she never thinks to check it before she leaves the house. Now no excuses!! She also sat on the couch last night, after my prodding, and entered her receipts on the app while I ran the sync process from the pc. She hates sitting at the pc to enter her receipts so she almost didn't mind entering them this time My next step is to have her enter her receipts at the point of transaction. Once the ability to do split transactions comes out, for me, it's a finished product.
For those who say it's too expensive or what have you, I say for the work you're putting into it and the huge benefit it provides, you're practically giving it away. Although she just started using it, I really see this app as being the game changer for our budget. Again, thank you both for all of your work!
